Privacy Policy

Recess (takerecess.co) is run by Jetpack Properties LLC. This page explains what we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to hold your spot and stay in touch, we use one visitor-identification service that only runs if you allow it, and you can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
What we collect, and why
- Reserving a spot. When you reserve, you give us your name, email, firm or employer and role, phone number, and any dietary notes. We use these to hold your spot, plan the week, and contact you about your reservation. Your deposit is processed by Stripe; your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
- Signing up for updates. If you request the itinerary or join our list, we keep your name and email to send you what you asked for and occasional notes about Recess. We use Kajabi to send those emails.
- Site analytics. We use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. It tells us things like how many people visited and which pages they read, in aggregate only.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can reply and follow up.
Visitor identification (RB2B)
We use a service called RB2B that can identify business visitors to this site. Here is the disclosure RB2B asks us to include:
When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.
You also have the option to opt out of the collection of your personal data in compliance with GDPR by visiting https://www.rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out.
On this site, RB2B runs only if you allow it. When you first visit, a banner asks whether we can use it. If you choose “No thanks,” or simply ignore the banner, it never loads. You can change your mind at any time using the button below.
Cookies and your choices

- The consent banner. Your answer is stored in your browser (in local storage, not a tracking cookie) so we don’t ask on every visit. Clearing your browser’s site data resets it, as does the button above.
- Plausible sets no cookies.
- Stripe uses cookies on its checkout pages to complete your payment and prevent fraud. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the services we use to run Recess: Stripe (payments), Kajabi (email), Plausible (analytics), RB2B (visitor identification, only with your consent), and Cloudflare (hosting). Each processes information on our behalf. We don’t sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation and payment records for as long as we need them to run the retreat and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We keep your email on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Analytics data is aggregate and isn’t tied to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, email naomi@litson.co and we’ll take care of it. For RB2B specifically, you can also use the opt-out links above.
Children
Recess is for practicing lawyers. This site isn’t directed to anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects the visitor-identification consent, we’ll ask for your permission again.
